Privacy Policy
Effective date: May 30, 2026 — Last updated: May 30, 2026
CalCluster is a free, static tools website. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and what rights you have. We have written this in plain English so it is easy to understand.
Section 1 — Who We Are
CalCluster is a free calculator tools website operated by an individual developer. The website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages and the domain is calcluster.com. For privacy-related inquiries contact us via the contact page at calcluster.com/contact/. We are completely committed to protecting your personal information and your right to privacy when you use our services. If you have any questions or concerns about this privacy notice, or our practices with regard to your personal information, please reach out to us. We prioritize a safe, secure, and transparent browsing experience for all our users globally.
Section 2 — What Information We Collect
2a — Information You Provide (Contact Form)
When you submit the contact form you provide your name, email address, subject, and message. This information is submitted to Web3Forms (web3forms.com), a third-party form processing service, which delivers it to us by email. We use this information solely to respond to your inquiry and to provide you with the support or answers you need. We do not store this data on our own servers, nor do we add your email address to any marketing newsletters or promotional mailing lists. Your direct communication with us remains completely confidential and is handled with care.
2b — Information Collected Automatically
When you visit calcluster.com, Cloudflare — our hosting and CDN provider — automatically collects technical data including your IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URL, pages visited, and time of visit. This data is processed by Cloudflare on our behalf for security, performance, and basic analytics purposes. We do not run our own server-side analytics or track individual user journeys in a personally identifiable way. This aggregated information simply helps us understand broad traffic patterns, defend against malicious activities, and ensure our site remains fast and accessible for everyone worldwide.
2c — Information Collected by Advertising Partners
We plan to display advertisements through Google AdSense to support the ongoing development of this free resource. Google and its advertising partners use cookies and similar tracking technologies to serve personalized ads based on your browsing history across websites. This data collection is governed by Google's own privacy policy and terms of service. You have control over this process; you can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting google.com/settings/ads or aboutads.info/choices/. We do not have access to the individual profiles created by these advertising networks.
Section 3 — Cookies
CalCluster itself does not set first-party cookies for tracking or analytics. We believe in keeping our footprint as minimal as possible. However, the third-party services we use — Cloudflare, Google AdSense — may set their own cookies. Cloudflare uses cookies strictly for security and performance enhancements, ensuring the website loads reliably and remains safe from automated threats. Google AdSense uses cookies to serve relevant advertisements to our visitors based on their interests. You can easily control, block, or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect the functionality of some features on this site, though the core calculators will remain fully functional.
Section 4 — How We Use Your Information
We utilize the limited information we collect for several specific, strictly defined purposes. Primarily, we use your details to respond to contact form submissions and address any feedback, questions, or bug reports you provide. We also rely on technical data to maintain and improve the website, ensuring a smooth experience across all devices. Additionally, we use information to serve relevant advertisements through Google AdSense, which supports our free tools. Technical logs are essential to protect the website from abuse and security threats via Cloudflare's infrastructure. Finally, we may process information to comply with applicable legal obligations or lawful requests from authorities.
Section 5 — Third Party Services We Use
To operate CalCluster efficiently, safely, and securely, we rely on a select group of trusted third-party service providers. Each of these providers has their own privacy policies governing how they handle data. Below is a list of the services we use:
- Cloudflare — hosting, CDN, DDoS protection, security. Privacy policy: cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/
- Web3Forms — contact form processing. Privacy policy: web3forms.com/privacy
- Google AdSense — advertising (planned). Privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy
- GitHub — source code hosting. Privacy policy: GitHub Privacy Statement
Section 6 — Data Retention
We believe in retaining data only for as long as it is actively useful. Web3Forms delivers form submissions directly to our email inbox and does not retain them on their servers beyond the initial delivery process. Cloudflare retains access and security logs according to their own established data retention policy. Crucially, we do not maintain any independent database of user information, profiles, or tracking metrics. Emails received via the contact form are retained in our secure email inbox purely for customer service purposes and are permanently deleted when the conversation is resolved and the record is no longer needed.
Section 7 — Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you are granted specific rights regarding your personal data. For our users located in the European Union (EU) or European Economic Area (EEA), the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) affords you the right to access, rectify, or request the erasure of your personal data. You also have the right to restrict processing, the right to data portability, and the right to object to processing.
For our users in California, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) grants you the right to know what personal information is collected, the right to delete that information, and the right to opt out of the sale of personal data. Please note that we absolutely do not sell user data to anyone under any circumstances.
If you wish to exercise any of these rights, you can easily do so by reaching out to us. Simply contact us via our contact page at calcluster.com/contact/. We are committed to resolving your requests promptly and will respond to all verifiable inquiries within 30 days. Note that since we collect minimal data (primarily just email correspondence if you contact us), most requests will be exceptionally straightforward and quick to fulfill.
Section 8 — Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)
For our users located in the European Union, we process your information under specific legal bases defined by the GDPR. Any contact form data you provide is processed strictly on the basis of your explicit consent when you voluntarily submit the form to communicate with us. Technical data collected by Cloudflare is processed on the basis of our legitimate interests, specifically regarding website security and optimizing global performance. Finally, any data related to targeted advertising is processed on the basis of your consent, where required by applicable law, which you can manage via your browser or ad settings.
Section 9 — Children's Privacy
CalCluster is designed for general audiences and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted personal information through our contact form, contact us immediately and we will delete it from our records. Our calculator tools are general-purpose educational tools suitable for all ages, but the website as a whole — particularly regarding targeted advertising — is not specifically designed for children. We encourage parents to monitor their children's internet usage.
Section 10 — Data Security
We take the security of your interactions with our website very seriously. Cloudflare provides enterprise-grade security including DDoS protection, SSL/TLS encryption, and firewall protection for all traffic to calcluster.com. All data transmitted via the contact form is sent over HTTPS. We do not store user data on our own servers. However, no method of internet transmission is 100% secure — while we use industry-standard protections to safeguard your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security against highly sophisticated threats or vulnerabilities beyond our control.
Section 11 — Third Party Links
Throughout CalCluster, our content may occasionally include links to external, third-party websites for your convenience and reference. Please be aware that once you click on these links and leave our domain, we do not have any control over those external platforms. We are not responsible for the privacy practices, data collection policies, or content of those sites. We strongly encourage you to carefully review the privacy policy of any external site you visit before providing them with any personal information.
Section 12 — Changes to This Policy
As we continue to develop CalCluster, add new calculator tools, and evolve our services, we may need to update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page will always accurately reflect the most recent version of our privacy practices. Your continued use of calcluster.com after any modifications are posted constitutes your full acceptance of the updated policy. For significant or material changes regarding how we handle personal data, we will make reasonable efforts to notify our users transparently.
Section 13 — Contact
If you have any privacy-related questions, concerns, or feedback regarding this Privacy Policy, or if you wish to exercise your privacy rights under GDPR, CCPA, or other applicable laws, we are here to help. Please reach out to us directly via our contact page. We monitor our communications regularly and will do our absolute best to address and resolve your inquiries as quickly, thoroughly, and transparently as possible, usually within a few business days.
